5K Run Time

The Benefits of Running

Running is one of the simplest forms of exercise you can pick up - no gym membership, no fancy equipment, just a decent pair of shoes and the road ahead of you.

Am an advocate of having multiple pairs for the sake of rotation

Physical Health

Running strengthens your cardiovascular system, improves lung capacity, and builds muscular endurance in your legs and core. Regular runs help regulate weight, lower blood pressure, and improve cholesterol levels. Over time, your resting heart rate drops and your body becomes more efficient at using oxygen - a sign your fitness is genuinely improving.

Mental Clarity

There's a reason so many people call running "moving meditation." The rhythmic nature of it - footfall after footfall, breath after breath - has a way of quieting a busy mind. Many runners report reduced stress, better mood, and sharper focus after a run. It's often the simplest reset button available.

Discipline and Goal-Setting

Running is also a great teacher of discipline. Progress isn't instant - it's built run by run, week by week. That makes it a natural fit for goal-setting, because every session gives you feedback: was that easier than last time? Faster? Did it feel more controlled?

My Own Goal: Sub-5min/km Pace

Right now, I'm working toward a personal running goal - breaking a 5min/km pace. It's a personal goal I have been trying to achieve for the longest time. For now, the journey continues.

Getting there isn't just about running faster in the moment - it's about building the aerobic base, refining running form, and being patient enough to trust the process over weeks and months. The patience part is something I'm working on.

Stay tuned.
